Shepherds Crook and the PST

From the early days of the Portsmouth Supporters Trust the Shepherds Crook has been involved in the tremendous effort that all members of the PST and supporters of the club have put into taking ownership of this great football club. The PST is a fan owned community trust, whose sole ambition was to rescue Portsmouth Football Club from extinction and to ensure that future fans will have a club to support and cal there own

Our Fundraising

At the Shepherds Crook we realise that without Portsmouth Football Club we would probably not exist. The owners and staff are Pompey fans and we realise that the football club is the heart of the local community.

To help ensure that we have a club in the future the pub has raised over £3,000.00 for the Supporters Trust, by donating 10p for every pint sold on a match-day.

We have also decided to sponsor the Youth Academy at Portsmouth Football Club to the tune of £10,000.00 as we believe that the academy is the future of our great club.

Each of the owners has also acquired a share in the Club, raising a further £3.000.00 between us.

In total we have pledged £16,000.00 to Portsmouth Football Club and we continue raising funds for as the long as the club needs us.

Our commitment does not end there. We also advertise and preach the benefits of the PST and will try and convert many more fans into share owned of our great club

About the PST

The Pompey Supporters’ Trust was created on the 23rd December 2009.

Their aim is to bring about responsible, democratic representation at Portsmouth Football Club and so help promote the highest standards of transparent governance, accountability and embed Portsmouth F.C. deeper into its community through greater communication and co-operation with its fans.

The PST aims to strengthen the bonds between the Club and the community by working in partnership with everyone connected to the Club, enhancing the benefit to the community it serves.

It also aims to build up and develop a positive, proactive relationship with its owners and management of the Club by encouraging dialogue between the Club and its supporters.

To encourage the Club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions. To encourage supporter involvement including but not limited to, dialogue, fan representation and share ownership, ultimately to be the vehicle for democratic elections to the board.

To promote, develop and respect the rights of members of the community served by the Club and people dealing with the Trust, by providing information to members and conducting the affairs of the Trust in accessible and appropriate ways.

Doing your bit

To become a member of the PST costs £1,000.00, this gives you a share in the Club and literally means that you own part of the Club.

For many people this is a lot of money, however you can form a syndicate, where for example, ten of you and/or your family can each pledge £100.00 to make up the £1,000.00.
